RISE International Mt. Kilimanjaro Climb
The Mt. Kilimanjaro Climb has been indefinitely postponed as not enough money was raised to cover both the costs of the climb itself and the projects it was intended to raise money for. All funds raised to sponsor the climb will be used for those projects. We would like to thank everyone who contributed.
Our first major fundraiser is an ambitious one—scaling the tallest mountain in Africa, Mt. Kilimanjaro! RISE International director Juliana Buhring will be making the seven-day climb to the summit on June 14, 2008.
Proceeds raised from the climb will go towards two of RISE International’s projects:
1)The rehabilitation and education of ex-child soldiers and children affected by the Lord’s Resistance Army rebels in Gulu, Northern Uganda.
2)The international ‘Lost Children Memorial Day’ which will be held on August 10th, 2008, in the USA, UK, and Uganda.
